Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. For pie filling, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in large mixing bowl. If apples lack tartness, add optional lemon juice if desired. Toss to coat fruit evenly.
  3. Turn fruit mixture into pie shell and dot with butter.
  4. For streusel topping, combine flour and salt in medium bowl. Cut butter in flour and salt mixture with pastry cutter until mixture is crumbly. Add remaining ingredients and blend well until consistency is coarse and crumbly.
  5. Spinkle streusel topping over pie filling.
  6. Place pie pan on cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and gently cover with foil. Bake an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool before serving.
