Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 tbsp flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups tomatoes, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups peas, cooked
  • 1/2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups shrimp, cooked
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder

Directions:

  1. Saute onion and celery in butter until browned. Stir in flour and salt, and slowly add the water.
  2. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Add tomatoes, peas, vinegar, sugar, shrimp, and chilli powder, and continue cooking 10 minutes longer.
  4. Place rice in a large deep serving plate, and pour creole mixture over it.
