Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix the meats,onion,bread crumbs,oregano,cumin,salt and pepper well.stir in the egg,mix well,roll into 1.5 inch balls,chill them while prepare the sauce.
  2. Soak the dried chile in hot water for 15 min,drain the chile,reserve the soaking water.
  3. Heat oil in a sauce pan and saute the onion for 3 min,add the chopped chile to onion,fry for 1 min,stir in the beef broth,tomatoes,passata and soaking water,season with salt,pepper,bring to a boil and lower the heat,simmer for 5 min,stir occasionally.
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the meatballs until browned,about 5 min,drain and transfer them to the sauce,simmer for 10 min.stir gently to coat the meatballs with sauce.
  5. Serve with white rice.
