Mashed Potatoes Zip N Steam Style

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs potatoes
  • 1/2 cup milk (or more as desired)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Peel potatoes if desired.
  2. Cut potatoes into small (1-11/2 inch) pieces of roughly uniform size.
  3. Put potatoes into large Zip’n Steam™ bag and seal bag.
  4. Pat potatoes into single layer and place in microwave.
  5. Microwave on full power for 71/2 minutes, or until all potatoes are tender and smash easily when pressed.
  6. If needed, microwave for additional 30-second intervals until all potatoes are tender.
  7. Allow bag to stand for 1 minute before handling.
  8. Carefully open bag, but leave cooked potatoes in bag.
  9. Add milk, butter, and salt to bag.
  10. Squeeze air out of bag and seal.
  11. Hold top edge of bag in one hand and mash potatoes by squeezing bag.
  12. If needed, add additional milk (1 Tablespoon at a time) and continue mashing until you reach your desired consistency.
  13. Add additional salt or butter as desired, mash until combined.
