Bibianne's French Canadian Cabbage Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 meaty beef bone
  • 1/2 cup barley
  • 1 large onion, whole
  • 1 large carrot, diced
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Boil beef bone and onion in soup pot filled half way with water for 20 minutes.
  2. Add barley and simmer for another 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Remove beef bone and cut off cooked meat.
  4. Chop meat into small pieces and return to pot.
  5. Add carrot and cabbage.
  6. Simmer until carrot is tender.
