Baked Tomato Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 3 slices stale bread
  • 1 (32 oz) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 small onion, diced

Directions:

  1. Break bread into pieces and place in buttered 6 x 10 x 2 baking dish.
  2. In saucepan, combine tomatoes, seasonings, sugar and cornstarch.
  3. Cook over medium heat until slightly thickened; pour over bread.
  4. Sprinkle with onion and grated cheese.
  5. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
