Sweet and Sour Sauce (For Meatballs)

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 3/4 oz) can pineapple, crushed
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions:

  1. Drain the pineapple, reserving 1/3 cup of the syrup.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the brown sugar and cornstarch.
  3. Blend in pineapple syrup, vinegar, soy sauce and water.
  4. Cook and stir over low heat until mixture thickens and bubbles.
  5. Carefully stir in pineapple and meatballs (not included in this recipe).
  6. Heat to boiling.
  7. Serve over rice.
