Sausage Orzo Stufing With Celery Cranberries And P...

Ingredients:

  • jimmy dean sausage i used the maple 1
  • 1 tbsp spoon of olive oil
  • 1 cup of diced onion
  • 1-1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1-1/2 cup orzo pasta cooked in chicken brooth and drained if using as a stuffng make eldente
  • 3/4 cupsliced toasted pecans or walnuts almonds could work
  • 3 tbsp sliced fresh baisil
  • zest from half a lemon
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Melt butter with olive oil in medium skillet over medium high heat add onion
  2. Cook 4 minutes or until onions are translucent and golden brown
  3. Add celery cook 4 more minutes
  4. Cook and crumble the sausage.
  5. Combine orzo
  6. Celery mixture cranberries nuts basil and lemon juice and zest
  7. Toss gently to combine.
  8. Either eat as a side dish or stuff in a chicken or cornish hens and bake .
