Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 lb raisins
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp water, hot
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 lb jelly beans

Directions:

  1. Mix together dry flour and spices.
  2. Cream butter and sugar.
  3. Mix in beaten egg.
  4. Alternate mixing dry ingredients and applesauce into the creamed mixture.
  5. Dissolve soda in hot water and add to batter.
  6. Add vanilla, raisins, and jelly beans.
  7. Drop onto greased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake 15 minutes at 325 degrees.
