Cornmeal Griddle Cakes (Pre-1940's)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp fat, melted

Directions:

  1. Mix and sift dry ingredients.
  2. Combine beaten egg and milk.
  3. Add to dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in shortening.
  5. Pour on a hot griddle.
