Corn Flake Waffles Dated 1931

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup finely crushed corn flakes
  • 3 tbsp corn meal
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter

Directions:

  1. Sift and measure flour then add remaining dry ingredients and sift again.
  2. Beat egg yolks then add them to milk.
  3. Stir liquid ingredients into dry ones then add melted butter.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff then fold them into batter just before baking.
  5. Bake in preheated waffle iron for 3 minutes.
