Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup sweet milk
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp coconut flavoring

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar and oleo
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  3. Add milk and dry ingredients [sifted togather]
  4. Alternately, add flavoring and beat well.
  5. Fold in coconut.
  6. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees in a large tube pan.
  7. NOTE be sure to use canned coconut-
  8. DO NOT use fresh or frozen as it will not work
