a yummy grandmas recipe Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
1 stick oleo |
2 1/2 cups sugar |
5 eggs |
1 cup sweet milk |
3 cups cake flour |
1 tea baking powder |
1/4 tea salt |
1 1/2 tbl coconut flavoring |
Directions:
1. cream shortening and sugar and oleo 2. add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. 3. add milk and dry ingredients [sifted togather] 4. alternately, add flavoring and beat well. 5. fold in coconut. 6. bake 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees in a large tube pan. 7. NOTE be sure to use canned coconut- 8. DO NOT use fresh or frozen as it will not work |
