Baking-Powder Biscuits (Pre-1940)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp fat
  • 3/4 cup milk (about)

Directions:

  1. Mix and sift dry ingredients.
  2. Rub in fat with tips of fingers.
  3. Add milk granually to make a soft dough use a knife in mixing.
  4. Toss on a well floured board.
  5. Pat and roll out to 1 inch thickness.
  6. Cut with biscuit cutter rolled in flour.
  7. Place close together on an oiled pan.
  8. Bake in a hot oven 450 degrees 10-15 minutes.
