Texas Brown Sugar Pound Cake

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Beat butter and shortening with electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Gradually add brown sugar and granulated sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until the yellow yolk disappears.
  4. Sift together flour and baking powder.
  5. Add alternately with the evaporated milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Beat batter at low speed just until blended after each addition.
  7. Stir in vanilla and pecans.
  8. Pour batter into greased and floured 12-cup tube or Bundt pan.
  9. Place pan in cold oven.
  10. Set oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  11. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into middle comes out clean.
  12. Cool 10 to 15 minutes.
  13. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
