Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup shortning
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • additional sugar

Directions:

  1. In mixing bowl, cream sugar and lard until blended. Add sour cream and corn syrup; mix well. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and spices; add o creamed mixture and mix well.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough. Sprinkle with additional sugar. Cut out with a round cookie cutter.
  3. Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
  4. Bake 350 degree for 7-10 minutes.
  5. Remove to wire racks.
