Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 tsp milk
  • 2 cups flour ,sifted
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening,sugar,orange peel,and vanilla.
  2. Add egg.
  3. Beat till light and fluffy.
  4. Stir in milk.
  5. Sift together dry ingredients,blend in creamed mixture.
  6. Divide dough in half,chill for 1 hour.
  7. On lightly floured surface,roll to 1/8 thick.
  8. Cup out cookies with favorite cookie cutter.
  9. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes.
  10. Cool, remove from pan,frost.
