Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating at med. speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, mixing well.
  2. Combine flour and next 5 ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with water, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix after each addition.
  3. Pour batter into a lightly greases and floured 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350F for 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted, comes out clean. Serve with a scoop of whipped cream.
