Hearty Shrimp Amp Sausage Chowder

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Thaw shrimp in cool water if frozen.
  2. In a large soup pot or Dutch oven, cook the bacon until nearly crisp.
  3. Add onion and green pepper and saute 10 minutes until soft.
  4. Add broth and water.
  5. Stir to mix.
  6. Add tomatoes, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and Tabasco.
  7. Bring to a boil and then simmer 15 minutes.
  8. While broth and vegetables simmer, brown and crumble the sausage until cooked through.
  9. Drain off any grease.
  10. Add sausage and shrimp to the soup pot and heat through (less than 5 minutes).
  11. Sprinkle in the parsley if desired and serve in big bowls.
