Ingredients:

  • 200 g dates
  • flour , as required (maida)
  • oil , as required
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • almonds , as required
  • pistachios , as required

Directions:

  1. Remove the seeds from the dates.
  2. Add butter to the dates and using your hands, crush the dates as much as possible, until it becomes paste-like.
  3. Now, make small round balls out of this mixture.
  4. Add 1 tablespoons of hot oil to the flour to make the dough crispy.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add water, as required, and knead well to make the dough.
  7. Now, carefully make rectangular leaves/covers of the dough.
  8. Fill these covers with the dates paste, almonds and pistachios.
  9. Twist the covers to give the shapes of toffee.
  10. Dip the toffee in sesame seeds.
  11. Heat oil in a wok.
  12. Fry the toffees' in the hot oil.
  13. Drain excess oil on clean paper towels and serve.
