Ingredients:

  • 2 6 oz cans of clams
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • 4 cups of cubed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp worchestire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp sugar

Directions:

  1. Drain clams and reserve the liquid in a bowl. add enough water to the liquid to measure 2 cups.
  2. In a large saucepan cook the bacon. remove the bacon from the pan, but leave the drippings.
  3. Add the clam liquid, potatoes and onion to the saucepan.
  4. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender
  5. Stir in the clams, 2 cups of milk and the cream.
  6. Combine remaining milk and flour in a small bowl and mix well
  7. Stir into chowder.
  8. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
  9. Add worchestire sauce and cook for 1 more minute.
  10. Add salt, pepper and sugar, stir and serve :)
