Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter (must be , margerine will not do)
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Stir all ingredients gently until mixed.
  3. Using electric beaters, beat dough on high for 10 minutes- NO LESS- this is very important!
  4. Drop by teaspoon full on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes, just until edges are light brown.
  6. Decorate if you like, I prefer not.
  7. Slivers of red or green candied cherries pressed on before baking make a nice holiday garnish.
