This is one recipe that Mum and I made every christmas. Truely melt in your mouth delicious. Not for the calorie counters. Ingredients:
1 cup butter (must be butter, margerine will not do) |
1/2 cup icing sugar |
1 1/2 cups flour |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Stir all ingredients gently until mixed. 3. Using electric beaters, beat dough on high for 10 minutes- NO LESS- this is very important! 4. Drop by teaspoon full on ungreased cookie sheet. 5. Bake for 10 minutes, just until edges are light brown. 6. Decorate if you like, I prefer not. 7. Slivers of red or green candied cherries pressed on before baking make a nice holiday garnish. |
