Stir Fried Beef With Ginger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak, cut to suit stir fry
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp dry sherry
  • 2 tsp cornstarch , disolved in 2 1/2 tsp water
  • 3 green onions , cut into 3 1/2-inch pieces

Directions:

  1. Sprinkle the steak with salt, cornstarch and 1 1/2 tsp of the oil.
  2. Heat remaining oil in a skillet.
  3. Add steak and ginger and stir fry over high heat for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, wine, sugar and the cornstarch/water mixture.
  5. Stir fry 1 minute longer.
  6. Add green onions, stir and serve.
