Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 -6 large potatoes
  • 1 large onion

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt 2 tbsp butter on medium heat.
  3. Stir in 1 tbsp flour.
  4. Add the milk in slowly, constantly stirring.
  5. Stir until it's all well blended and a little bit thickened.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Grease a baking dish.
  8. Slice potatoes very thin and chop onions finely too.
  9. Alternate layers of onion and potato.
  10. Pour sauce over everything.
  11. Cover with bread crumbs.
  12. Sprinkle melted butter over it all.
  13. Bake covered for 1 hour.
  14. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more.
