Mediterranean Chickpea Hummus

Ingredients:

  • 4 -5 cloves garlic
  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup tahini paste
  • 3 -4 tbsp lemons , juice of ( start with 3tbsp first , if you like it a little more tart, add another spoon)
  • 3/4 tbsp soya sauce
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (or less to suit taste buds)
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions:

  1. Blend garlic first.
  2. Add chickpeas, pulse for a few times at first, then puree, adding tahini paste through the feeder.
  3. Add in olive oil, lemon juice, soya sauce.
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, then add salt, cumin, coriander, cayenne, lemon juice and water.
  5. Blend to a smooth paste.
  6. Transfer to a bowl, and garnish with some chopped parsley and cilantro leaves.
