Maple Glazed Acorn Squash

Ingredients:

  • 3 acorn squash (1 1/2 lb each)
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp mace

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Butter a baking dish.
  3. Cut top and bottom off squash.
  4. Slice crosswise into 1/2 inch thick slices.
  5. Use a cookie cutter to cut out center seeds.
  6. Arrange squash in baking dish.
  7. Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan and heat until bubbly; pour over squash.
  8. Bake, basting occasionally, until tender, 30 minutes.
  9. If squash needs browning, turn up heat in broiler; broil until lightly glazed.
