Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Sauté the onions in heated oil.
  2. Sprinkle with caraway seeds and salt.
  3. Add the beef and brown well.
  4. Lower the heat and cover.
  5. Steam for a few minutes.
  6. Add the paprika and mix well.
  7. Add a little water and bring it to a boil.
  8. Lower the heat again.
  9. When the meat is 3/4 cooked, add the green pepper, garlic, and tomato.
  10. Simmer, at moderate heat, until the meat is tender.
  11. If needed, add a little water from time to time.
  12. Serve with potato or pasta.
  13. A cucumber salad is a nice accompaniment.
  14. Lamb or pork can also be substituted for the beef.
