Epicure's Foccacia

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 4 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup epicure's focaccia bread spices
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp sea salt

Directions:

  1. Dissolve sugar in warm water and stir in yeast. Let sit 5 minutes.
  2. Soften 1/4 cup Epicure's Focaccia Bread Spices in olive oil and hot water. Cool to lukewarm, add salt and combine spices with yeast mixture.
  3. Stir in flour, one cup at a time.
  4. Knead on a floured surface until smooth (4 minutes). Let sit 5 minutes.
  5. Brush baking sheet with olive oil and sprinkle with cornmeal. Roll dough onto pan. Brush with olive oil and let rise 40 minutes.
  6. Add a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkle with Epicure's Focaccia Bread Spices and Epicure's Sea Salt.
  7. Bake at 425°F (215°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
