Ingredients:

  • 2 (1/4 oz) packages active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water (110*)
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Beat in milk, sugar, egg, shortening, salt and 2 cups flour until smooth.
  2. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minute.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to coat top.
  5. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hours
  6. Punch dough down. Roll into 90 balls; place three balls each in greased muffin cups.
  7. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minute
  8. Bake at 375* for 12-14 min or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
