  1. Preheat oven at 325.
  2. In a small skillet, saute shallots in margarine until tender; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and mustard. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles crumbs. In a small bowl, whisk egg and milk. Stir into crumb mixture just until moistened. Fold in cheeses and shallot mixture.
  4. Transfer to a greased 8-inch x 4-inch loaf pan. Bake at 325 for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack. Yield: 1 loaf ( 12 slices )
