Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

Ingredients:

  • 2 large bunches of fresh asparagus
  • 1/2 lb of smoked bacon
  • 1 cup of sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. rice wine
  • 1 tsp of crushed ginger
  • 1 tbsp of crushed garlic
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. wash and rinse asparagus and pat dry. Cut off ends of asparagus about 1/2 inch. Take bacon and wrap 6 to 8 peices of asparagus , making sure to wrap the bacon tightly , about three slices each bunch and secure with toothpick. Mix sesame oil, rice wine, crushed ginger and garlic, soy sauce brown sugar and red pepper flakes in a medium sauce pan and simmer. Glaze lightly with sauce and reserve some for dipping or drizzle it over the finished dish. Place in pan and cook for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Turn gently half way through cooking time. Drizzle sauce over asparagus and enjoy
