Turkish Style Fried Mussels -midye Tava

Ingredients:

  • midye tava - fried mussels
  • 5 servings
  • 1 1/2 cups salad oil
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1 cup trator sauce
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tea spoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tea spoon baking soda

Directions:

  1. Open the 20mussels by inserting a knife along the flat side and running it along to the other side,
  2. Remove them from their shell.
  3. Wash and dry mussels,flour(stir flour with black pepper and baking soda )each one separately.
  4. Dip them first into beer,
  5. Then into the beaten egg.
  6. Fry in hot oil until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately with a bowl of trator sauce.
