we call this recipe 'meze' turkish starters ..before the main dishes its just perfect ..also its like snack or lunch ..when u feel hungry u can eat that and it will be enough .. Ingredients:
midye tava - fried mussels |
5 servings |
1 1/2 cups salad oil |
1 cup beer |
1 cup trator sauce |
1 egg lightly beaten |
1/2 cup flour |
20 mussels |
salt |
1/2 tea spoon black pepper |
1/2 tea spoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Open the 20mussels by inserting a knife along the flat side and running it along to the other side, 2. remove them from their shell. 3. Wash and dry mussels,flour(stir flour with black pepper and baking soda )each one separately. 4. Dip them first into beer, 5. then into the beaten egg. 6. Fry in hot oil until golden brown on all sides. 7. Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately with a bowl of trator sauce. |
