Traditional Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Directions:

  1. Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and nutmeg in a small dish.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large dish, blend in the sour cream and then add dry ingredients.
  3. Chill for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Roll out the dough until it is 1/2 inch thick on a sugar and floured surface.
  5. Cut with the cookie cutter and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Cool before icing.
