Top Notch Sourdough Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup. of sourdough starter (listed separately on recipezaar)
  • 12 cup. of flour
  • 1/2 cup. of sugar
  • 1 qt. of lukewarm water
  • 2 tbsp. of salt
  • 5 tbsp. of melted shortening

Directions:

  1. First you want to take out about 1 cup of your starter from the refrigerator.
  2. Next you can add the rest of the ingredients to a bowl.
  3. Now flour your surface so kneading will be easier.
  4. Knead this until smooth.
  5. You will now put dough in a bowl covered and let rise in a warm place.
  6. Once this doubles, divide into 4 parts.
  7. Now you can shape into 4 loafs about 9 .
  8. Let these rise again in their own greased bread loafs.
  9. Bake at 375 degrees about 45 min.
  10. Serve.
