Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teasp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teasp. baking soda
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teasp. baking powder
  • 1/2 teasp. salt
  • 1/4 teasp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 teasp. nutmeg

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl: cream butter 3 mins on medium speed
  2. Add sugar, cream for 3 mins longer
  3. Add eggs 1 at a time. beat well after each egg
  4. Add vanilla
  5. In small bowl: combine sour cream and the baking soda
  6. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg
  7. To butter mixture: alternately add the flour mixture and the sour cream
  8. Starting with the flour mixture and ending with the flour mixture
  9. Drop by teaspoon onto a greased tin foil lined cookie sheet
  10. 12 cookies to a cookie sheet. spaced 1 1/2 inches apart
  11. Bake at 350' F for 8-10 mins. do not brown the tops
  12. Cool on paper lined cookie racks.
