this is a large soft sugar cookie.. It was on my cookie Christmas list but I never got to make them.. They just sound like the sugar cookies I remember as a child.. the recipe is from Heartland. Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks) softened |
2 cups sugar |
3 jumbo eggs |
2 teasp. vanilla extract |
1 1/4 cup sour cream |
1 teasp. baking soda |
4 cups flour |
2 teasp. baking powder |
1/2 teasp. salt |
1/4 teasp. cinnamon |
1/4 teasp. nutmeg |
Directions:
1. in a large mixing bowl: cream butter 3 mins on medium speed 2. add sugar, cream for 3 mins longer 3. add eggs 1 at a time. beat well after each egg 4. add vanilla 5. in small bowl: combine sour cream and the baking soda 6. sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg 7. to butter mixture: alternately add the flour mixture and the sour cream 8. starting with the flour mixture and ending with the flour mixture 9. drop by teaspoon onto a greased tin foil lined cookie sheet 10. 12 cookies to a cookie sheet. spaced 1 1/2 inches apart 11. bake at 350' F for 8-10 mins. do not brown the tops 12. cool on paper lined cookie racks. |
