Ingredients:

  • 125 g butter
  • 230 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp rose water
  • 125 g flour
  • 125 g semolina
  • 300 g sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1tbsp rosewater

Directions:

  1. Cream butter sugar together
  2. Whisk egg yolks yogurt rosewater until combined
  3. Sift flour baking powder and semolina and combine with wet ingredients
  4. Whisk egg whites to soft peaks fold fold into mix and spread into a lined baking tray and bake for 30 minutes
  5. In a medium pot combine sugar water and additional rose water and cook over medium heat until boiled stirring constantly once boiled reduce heat do not stir and allow to cook for another 5-7 minutes but do not allow syrup to change color syrup should be thickened
  6. Once cake is golden remove from oven and pour hot syrup over hot cake serve warm or cold
