Ingredients:

  • 10 tbsp butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp powder sugar
  • few drops of natural food color

Directions:

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg and extract of your choice. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture, slowly. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll dough into a rectangle and use your choice of cookie cutter to make the desired shape. Place on a prepared cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350F degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Let rest for 2 minutes on cookie sheet before removing to a cooking rack.
  2. Whisk the powder sugar, boiling water and food color together and use to drizzle over the cooled cookies. Leave for 10 minutes to set.
