New York Style Cheesecake Adapted for India

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 500 g panir
  • 6 -7 tbsp yoghurt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 5 tsp jam

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150. Line a 13 by 9 pan.
  2. Crush the biscuits into fine crumbs with a hammer or in the grinder.
  3. Mix the crumbs, 3Tbsp sugar and butter and press it firmly onto the bottom of prepared pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes.
  5. Crumble the paneer and put in the jar of blender with the yoghurt, 3/4C sugar, flour and vanilla.
  6. Blend until smooth, pushing the mix down with a spatula if needed.
  7. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  8. Pour gently over crust.
  9. Dot tiny spoonfuls of jam over the batter.
  10. Bake 40 min or until centre is set.
  11. Cool completely. Refrigerate overnight.
