Mom's Hungarian Goulash

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 lbs beef chuck
  • 2 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup catsup
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water

Directions:

  1. Cut beef into 1-inch pieces and brown in oil.
  2. Add onions and garlic.
  3. Mix catsup, Worcestershire, vinegar, sugar and seasonings. Add to beef.
  4. Add water and stir.
  5. Cover and simmer 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
  6. Thicken with flour and water.
  7. Cook noodles according to package directions.
  8. Add to beef mixture.
