Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • frosting
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 package. cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

  1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 325 DEGREES
  2. CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR TOGETHER
  3. SIFT FLOUR AND BAKING SODA TOGETHER
  4. ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE, ALTERNATELY WITH EGGS, ONE AT A TIME, BEATING AFTER EACH.
  5. ADD VANILLA
  6. POUR INTO A GREASED AND FLOURED TUBE PAN AND BAKE FOR 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES.. CHECK AN EYE ON IT..
  7. FROSTING DIRECTIONS:
  8. MIX ALL INGREDIENTS TOGETHER.
  9. WAIT FOR THE POUND CAKE TO COOL, THEN TOP WITH A THICK, THICK LAYER OF FROSTING..
  10. GOOD WITHOUT THE FROSTING HEAVENLY WITH IT..
  11. THE PICTURE I FOUND LOOKS JUST LIKE THE CAKE WITHOUT THE FROSTING
  12. CAN ALSO GARNISH THIS HEAVENLY POUND CAKE WITH ICE CREAM, STRAWBERRIES AND POWEDERED SUGAR..
