Granma Cross Crazy Crust Apple Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions:

  1. In a small mixing bowl combine, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, water, shortening and egg. beat well at lowest speed, beat 2 minutes at mediu speed.
  2. Spread batter in a 9 or 10 deep dish pie pan.
  3. Combine filling and spice.
  4. Carefully spoon filling into center of batter.
  5. Do not stir. bake 425 degrees for 40 - 45 minutes or until crust is golden.
