Ingredients:

  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 oz butter
  • 1 oz sugar
  • 2 oz currants or 2 oz sultanas
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 pint milk

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to gas 7 425f.
  2. Mix flour and salt,rub in butter and stir in sugar and fruit.
  3. Mix the egg and milk together and add to other ingredients reserving a little to brush tops later.
  4. Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface then roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
  5. Cut into 2 1/2 inch rounds until all dough used.
  6. Brush tops with leftover egg/milk mix and bake for ten minutes.
