to make a change replace fuit with cheese of you choice Ingredients:
8 ounces self raising flour |
1 pinch salt |
2 ounces butter |
1 ounce sugar |
2 ounces currants or 2 ounces sultanas |
1 egg |
1/4 pint milk |
Directions:
1. heat oven to gas 7 425f. 2. mix flour and salt,rub in butter and stir in sugar and fruit. 3. mix the egg and milk together and add to other ingredients reserving a little to brush tops later. 4. knead the dough lightly on a floured surface then roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. 5. cut into 2 1/2 inch rounds until all dough used. 6. brush tops with leftover egg/milk mix and bake for ten minutes. |
