Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cut tomatoes 1/4 in thick.
  2. Beat egg and add dash or two of hot sauce and sugar.
  3. Salt and pepper the flour. I like sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
  4. Dip tomato slices in flour.
  5. Dip in egg.
  6. Dip in flour again.
  7. Heat oil and fry until brown.
