Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Lightly grease 12 muffin cups: set aside.
  2. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; set aside.
  3. In mixer bowl cream together 2 cups sugar, shortening and egg.
  4. Add flour mixture alternately with milk beating well after each addition.
  5. Fill prepared muffin cups 2/3 full.
  6. Bake in 350°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
  7. Combine 2 cups sugar and the cinnamon.
  8. Remove muffins from oven; immediately dip in melted margarine, then in cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.
  9. Serve warm.
