Doughnut and steusel like flavour. Something different for a light breakfast or brunch. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
2 cups sugar |
1/3 cup shortening |
1 egg |
2 cups milk |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
6 tablespoons margarine, melted |
Directions:
1. Lightly grease 12 muffin cups: set aside. 2. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; set aside. 3. In mixer bowl cream together 2 cups sugar, shortening and egg. 4. Add flour mixture alternately with milk beating well after each addition. 5. Fill prepared muffin cups 2/3 full. 6. Bake in 350°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. 7. Combine 2 cups sugar and the cinnamon. 8. Remove muffins from oven; immediately dip in melted margarine, then in cinnamon sugar mixture until coated. 9. Serve warm. |
