  1. In a large pot on high heat, melt butter. Pour in the whipping cream, half & half, Parmesan cheese and garlic salt and stir with a whisk until all the lumps have dissolved. Bring to a boil. Let sauce boil on med-high heat for about 10 minutes, making sure to keep stirring periodically to prevent burning(sauce will be thin to begin with, don't worry-it thickens!). Turn down to medium-low heat and let the sauce simmer until it thickens(about 10 minutes). Add your pasta, chicken or shrimp & simmer for 5 more minutes. Serve immediately!
